Description
The Z Automotive Tazer is an OBD2 plug-in programmer designed to unlock factory features, add performance-oriented functions, and give you greater control over vehicle settings on compatible Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and Chrysler 300 models.

IMPORTANT — 2018+ VEHICLES: Due to the factory Security Gateway Module, 2018 and newer Charger, Challenger, and Chrysler 300 models require a compatible Double Bypass for the Tazer to function. Select the appropriate option when ordering.
797 PERFORMANCE RECOMMENDATION — 8.4-INCH UCONNECT: 797 Performance recommends using the Z Automotive Tazer with vehicles equipped with the factory 8.4-inch Uconnect system. While the Tazer may still provide supported functions on vehicles equipped with smaller factory radios, feature availability can be significantly limited. If your vehicle has a smaller Uconnect display, please understand that you may not have access to all of the features described below.
Key Features
- SRT / Performance Feature Enable: Unlock or enable supported factory features including SRT Drive Modes, Track, Valet and ECO modes, factory Sport Mode, SRT EVIC menus, Uconnect performance pages, paddle shifters, fog lights, backup camera functions, DRL changes, shift light functions, TPMS changes, and more depending on vehicle configuration.
- PIN Lock: Set a steering-wheel-button PIN sequence that must be entered before the vehicle can be driven. Disable PIN Lock before using an automatic car wash or handing the vehicle to a valet.
- Line Lock: Uses the ABS system to hold the front brakes while allowing the rear tires to rotate for burnouts without installing a traditional hydraulic line-lock solenoid.
- Light Shows: Activate exterior lighting sequences using the key fob, steering-wheel controls, or vehicle menu. Multiple preset and customizable patterns are available.
- Third Brake Light Flash: Configure the center brake light to pulse when the brakes are applied.
- Force Engine Mode: Select and hold a supported engine mode independently of the transmission mode.
- Force Transmission Mode: Select and hold a supported transmission mode.
- Force Power / Key Mode: On supported vehicles, select Black Key, Red Key, or Valet behavior.
- Startup Drive Mode: Configure a preferred supported drive mode to be selected automatically at startup.
- Steering Wheel Shifting: On supported non-8-speed applications, use steering-wheel cruise buttons to command shifts while in AutoStick mode.
- AutoUpshift: On supported applications, configure automatic upshift RPM while using AutoStick.
- Peak RPM Display: View actual engine RPM reached during a shift.
- 0–30 / 0–60 Timer: Display acceleration times in the EVIC on supported vehicles.
- Force AWD Modes: On supported AWD vehicles, select RWD, AWD, or return the system to normal automatic operation.
- Reset Adaptives: Reset transmission adaptives using steering-wheel controls.
- ESP Control: Adds additional control over the vehicle's electronic stability systems on supported applications.
- Remote Windows: Raise or lower the front windows using the key fob on supported vehicles.
- Button Remapping: Assign supported Tazer functions to compatible steering-wheel or auxiliary buttons.
- Additional Video Inputs: Enable extra video inputs on supported Uconnect radios when used with the required Z Automotive AV/video cables.
Installation
Basic Tazer installation is performed through the vehicle's diagnostic OBD2 port. 2018+ vehicles also require installation of the Double Bypass harness.
Important Notes
- 797 Performance recommends the factory 8.4-inch Uconnect system for the best feature availability. Vehicles equipped with smaller radios may have limited functionality.
- Feature availability varies by vehicle year, trim level, drivetrain, transmission, radio, and factory equipment.
- Uconnect performance-page availability depends on radio and model year.
- Steering Wheel Shifting and AutoUpshift are not available on 8-speed applications.
- Some functions require additional hardware or cables.
